Legal Career

Jenifer embarked on her legal training at the “Magic Circle” law firm, Slaughter and May, and qualified into their company and commercial department, and later moved in-house to Lehman Brothers where she worked in transaction management in the debt capital markets division, specialising in global bonds and euro-medium term note programmes. A stint in the Deutsche Bank equity derivatives department followed.

Lars and Jenifer set up My Nametags in 2004 when their children were very young and Jenifer has been working alongside Lars in the business since its inception.

City Involvement

Jenifer is Vice Chair and Head of Membership at City Consorts, an organisation for the past, present and future consorts of any Master, Warden or Prime Bailiff of a Livery Company or Guild. She also organises events for the City Consorts, whose 320-strong membership enjoy sociable, charitable and educational events.

In 2020–2021, Jenifer was Consort to the Master Entrepreneur and in 2024–2025 the Consort to the Master World Trader, roles which deepened her connection with the Livery and the City.

In her own right, she is a Liveryman of the Drapers’ Company and is Vice-Chair and Safeguarding Governor in the local governing body of one of the primary schools in the Drapers’ Multi Academy Trust. She enjoys rowing the Drapers’ Barge and is on the Barge Committee.

Publications

Jenifer’s genuine fascination with the City manifests itself in her first book, Domine Dirige Nos: An Introduction to the City of London, which was published in March 2021. The book covers the history, geography, Wards, people, Livery Companies and City diary and, to Jenifer’s delight, it is given by several Livery Companies to their new joiners.

The second book, Rowing Club Colours: The Guide to Rowing Blazers and Oars, published in 2025, is a rowing regatta spectator’s guide to club blazers, oars and everything else a spectator needs to know about regattas.

Family and Hobbies

A proud mother of two girls, both Ivy League university graduates, starting their careers in management consultancy. Jenifer’s sporting interests include cross-country skiing and rowing.

Jenifer does not speak as many languages as Lars but claims to speak Japanese, basic Norwegian, A-level French and is learning Italian.

On Sundays, Jenifer can be seen serving food at a homeless kitchen in Hammersmith, West London.
